We publish civic data for free. Use it, share it, quote it — please credit us. Don't try to hack the site, spam our forms, or misrepresent what we say. We provide information in good faith; we don't guarantee it's perfect and we're not liable for decisions you make based on it.
1. Who these terms are between
These Terms govern your use of themajority.us and any subdomains (the “Site”), operated by eAdviser, Inc., a Delaware corporation (“we,” “us,” “TheMajority.us”). “You” means anyone who visits the Site.
2. Permitted use
You may:
- Read, share, and quote content on the Site for personal, educational, journalistic, academic, or civic purposes — please credit “TheMajority.us” and link back
- Screenshot and share individual scores, charts, or tables
- Sign up for our email list, contact us, and correct our mistakes
3. Prohibited use
You may not:
- Use the Site or its data in a way that misrepresents what it says (for example, cropping a score to reverse its meaning, or attributing a position to TheMajority.us that we don't hold)
- Scrape the Site at a volume or rate that degrades service for others
- Attempt to break, probe, or gain unauthorized access to the Site's systems
- Use the Site to send unsolicited email, harass individuals, or harass members of Congress (public accountability data is provided for civic engagement, not harassment)
- Use the Site's content to endorse or oppose a specific candidate in paid political advertising without written permission
- Republish large portions of the Site's content commercially (e.g., behind a paywall) without written permission
4. Accuracy & corrections
We publish scores, vote records, and polling citations in good faith using public data sources (Congress.gov, Senate.gov LIS, Morning Consult, LCV, and others cited throughout the site). We do not guarantee the data is error-free. If you find a mistake, email corrections@themajority.us and we will investigate and correct the record.
Member of Congress scores update weekly via an automated pipeline. Polling data updates quarterly. Timing of updates, rare API outages, or source-data errors at our upstream providers may cause temporary inaccuracies. We correct these as quickly as we can.
5. Not legal, financial, or voting advice
Nothing on this Site is legal, tax, financial, medical, or voting advice. We are a civic-education platform. The scores we publish describe how representatives have voted and how that aligns with polled majority positions — they are not instructions on how you should vote or act.
6. Third-party links
We link to third-party sources (Congress.gov, NCES, OECD, polling firms, news articles). We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
7. Intellectual property
Original writing, analysis, charts, and scores on this Site are © eAdviser, Inc. 2026 and licensed for personal, educational, and journalistic reuse with credit. Underlying facts (votes, scores, polling numbers) are not copyrightable and belong to the public domain; we only claim copyright in our specific presentation and curation. Third-party logos, names, and images referenced on this Site are property of their respective owners.
8. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The Site is provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We are not liable for any decision you make, action you take, or consequence you experience based on information found on this Site. Where liability cannot legally be excluded, our total aggregate liability to you is limited to the greater of $100 USD or the amount you have paid us in the past 12 months (which, since the Site is free, is typically $0).
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. If we change anything material, we will update the “Last updated” date below and, if you are on our email list, notify you. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware (the state of incorporation of eAdviser, Inc.), without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New Castle County, Delaware.
