We collect the minimum data we need to run the site — your email if you join our list, standard anonymous analytics otherwise. We never sell, rent, or trade email addresses. We do not accept money from advertisers, data brokers, campaigns, or PACs.
1. Who runs this site
TheMajority.us is operated by eAdviser, Inc., a Delaware corporation founded by Burr Warne, operating out of Arlington, Virginia. For any privacy-related questions, contact privacy@themajority.us.
2. What we collect
If you join our email list: we store the email address you enter, and the date you joined.
If you visit any page: our hosting provider receives your IP address, user-agent string, and the page requested (this is standard for any website). We use this only for basic traffic analytics and to detect abuse.
We do NOT collect:
- Your name, address, phone number, or any other PII — unless you voluntarily put it in an email to us
- Your political affiliation, voter registration status, or voting history
- Precise geolocation data
- Financial information (we do not currently accept donations or payments)
- Data from third-party data brokers, social login providers, or ad networks
3. Cookies and analytics
We use no cookies, no third-party analytics, and no tracking pixels. The site is static HTML; no account, login, or stored session is required to browse it. If we ever add analytics, we will choose a privacy-preserving, first-party tool (such as Plausible or Fathom) and update this page before it goes live.
We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking pixels, Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or any retargeting tool. You can browse this site without an account, without logging in, and without being tracked across other websites.
4. How we use your email
If you give us your email address, we use it only to send you the updates you signed up for — typically a weekly or monthly summary of new scores, votes of note, and platform changes. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
Our email list is not yet live. The form on the homepage today does not submit to any backend — if you try to submit it, you will see a message directing you to email us instead. When the list launches, we will store email addresses with a reputable email service provider (such as Mailchimp, ConvertKit, or Buttondown) configured to disable all cross-sale, enrichment, and data-sharing features. This policy will be updated with the specific provider name and a link to their privacy policy before the list goes live. Until then, any email address you send to us directly (via hello@themajority.us) is kept only in Burr's inbox.
5. Who we share data with
We never sell, rent, or trade your email address, browsing data, or any other information to anyone. Full stop.
We share data only with the specific service providers needed to run the site (e.g., our hosting provider and email provider above), and only what those providers need to do their job.
We will disclose data if legally compelled by a valid subpoena or court order. If that happens, we will notify the affected user unless legally prohibited from doing so.
6. How long we keep data
Email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe, or until you email us to request deletion. Server access logs are rotated every 30 days — matching the default retention of our hosting provider.
7. Your rights
You can, at any time, by emailing privacy@themajority.us:
- Ask what data we have on you
- Ask us to correct any data
- Ask us to delete your data (we will comply within 30 days)
- Opt out of our email list (you can also click unsubscribe in any email)
California residents (CCPA) and EU/UK residents (GDPR) have specific statutory rights beyond the above; those rights are honored in full. Email us to exercise them.
8. Children
TheMajority.us is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, email us and we will delete it immediately.
9. Security
We use HTTPS sitewide. Email addresses are stored with our email provider under their security practices. We do not store payment information, Social Security numbers, or any other sensitive data categories.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change anything material in this policy, we will post the change at the top of this page and, if you're on our mailing list, email you. This is not a promise we will never change the policy — it is a promise we will not change it quietly.
